Frost resistant tile is one that has very low water absorption, or E<0.5% which is the ISO standard. Tile that is not graded frost or freeze proof is not suitable for outdoor use in a place where it may freeze as repeated cycles of freezing and thawing can cause non-resistant tile to crack and break.
