The Dynamic Coefficient of Friction or DCOF, is a measurement that determines the likelihood of whether or not a tile surface could contribute to someone slipping or falling. The American National Standards Institute states that “hard surface flooring materials suitable for level interior spaces expected to be walked upon when wet with water shall have a wet DCOF of 0.42 or greater". This value should be available for tile and stone intended for floor use.
