Corvallis Museum
The Benton County Historical Society—Corvallis Museum was created to preserve and share Oregon material culture, art, and history in cooperation with the nearby Oregon State University.
Designed by Allied Works Architecture in Portland, 13,000 square feet of custom size 3x12” Umi Naya raked tile was selected for exterior cladding. The Japanese tile matched the designer’s reverence for natural materials and modest charm, while the raked surfaces help create varying arrays of reflection and shadow.
Porcelain tile has many qualities that make it ideal for use outside. The material performs well under all weather conditions, is low maintenance, is durable, and can be customizable for a unique look.
