During firing, the glaze gathers across the pitted surface and recedes into its cavities, creating variations from piece to piece. This process produces brilliant reflections and unexpected shifts in color as the glaze settles into the stone.
Fourteen reflective metallics and opaque colors, along with polished and brushed unglazed surfaces, offer broad possibilities for this distinctive stone. Cut-to-size formats are available in 10 mm thickness under 12 x 12", with larger sizes offered in 18 mm thickness. Geode coordinates with Magellan Fire Stone flat and concave tiles, bringing an unusual organic contrast to indoor and outdoor walls.
